Just a reminder

The task for this week is to visit a blog you visit often, leave a comment of niceness (which could be as simple as have a nice day), then sign it DARED TO BE NICE followed by the link http://daretobenice.blogspot.com then return here and leave your name and the link to the blog you visited.
You don't have to have a blog to do this, you can leave your comments anonymously and you can do the task as many times as you wish!
On a lighter note:
An elderly woman and her little grandson, whose face was sprinkled with bright freckles, spent the day at the zoo. Lots of children were waiting in line to get their cheeks painted by a local artist who was decorating them with tiger paws. "You've got so many freckles, there's no place to paint!" a girl in the line said to the little fella.
Embarrassed, the little boy dropped his head. His grandmother knelt down next to him. "I love your freckles. When I was a little girl I always wanted freckles," she said, while tracing her finger across the child's cheek. "Freckles are beautiful."
The boy looked up, "Really?"
"Of course," said the grandmother. "Why, just name me one thing that's prettier than freckles."
The little boy thought for a moment, peered intensely into his grandma's face, and softly whispered, "Wrinkles."

It's the little things...

Walking down the street and making eye contact with the person walking the other way. Just a quick hello, a smile, a good morning or a simple hi and you can change someones day.
Not taking the first car park in the multi-level but leaving it for the car behind you, could mean they get to their appointment on time.
Finding the extra 5 cents in your wallet for the person in front of you who is short at the checkout could mean they get that choccy bar they snuck into the trolley to make their glum day a little brighter.
Picking a flower for your nextdoor neighbour might mean they get a gift on valentines day.

Putting a love you note in your kids/partners lunchbox might mean they realise how much they mean to you and that's enough to get them thru the day!
Visiting someone's blog, saying Hi, could mean that person realises that someone out there, in blog land, cares enough about what they have to say to have visited and said hello.
What's stopping you from stepping on out and being nice to someone today?? I'm hoping the answer is nothing and you get to enjoy the pleasure of being nice!
Ok to answer some questions:
Yes you can take up the dare as many times as you like, after all niceness has no boundaries!
Why haven't I said who I am? I want this blog to be about you and do not want to use it to self promote. Having said that some of you do know who I am and I am thankful to you for not being scared off by my insanities and saw the potential in this blog!
Why did I start it? had a dream... no not really just a thought and wondered what it might result in! Who knows where it will go from here!
If you have an more questions feel free to ask, I will try to answer. Still amazed at the response, yay 12 jumping on board and daring to be nice! Go you good things!
Thanks again
Take care and have a nice day!

Thanks folks

for getting behind this concept! I am really happy with the support that has been given and the fact that people are actually reading this blog but also taking up the challenge of being nice to others!
Wow 8 comments and over 50 site visitors, thanks for the wonderful start!
I just wanted to make mention of the lovely visitor from USA who is, so far, the furthest 'NICE DARE PERSON' from here, Australia the conception point of this blog, and also wanted to make mention of the lovely comments of niceness that one of you left for another. The comments were so nice, above and beyond just a simple have a nice day. I love that and feel challenged to do the same! I really applaud leaving comments of niceness that might touch the heart of someone else and make their day seem a little brighter! Eventually I will be daring you to visit blogs of strangers and I would love to see you finding out a little about the people, ie reading their blog, and make comments of niceness that are relevant to the blogger, because who knows it might even be life changing for the receiver!
Hope thats not to deep lol but I just wanted to say a huge THANK YOU to all those reading the blog and an even bigger THANK YOU to those participating and adding some niceness to someones day! So don't be scared off by the fact you are being asked to be nice, join the fun and feel the nice feeling that is felt by being nice. IT'S WORTH IT!
Take care and have a nice day!

An idea

thats what I had and lets see how far this idea can go!!
Did you know that TODAY is National Compliment Day? So with that in mind, and my mind is a little overactive, I came up with the idea to visit random blogs and leave a comment of niceness. Each week I will dare you with a 'visit task' that will have a set of rules attached, ie: how you find the blog on which to leave a comment of niceness.
You must, with each comment left, write something nice (anonymous if you like) but you must sign it with DARED TO BE NICE and then the link back to this blog. Then you must return to this blog and leave a comment under the applicable 'visit task' and that comment must contain the link to the site you visited and left a comment of niceness. There will be spot prizes each week for those completing the tasks so it might be worth being nice every week!
Hoping that all makes sense because here is your first 'visit task':
GO TO A BLOG YOU VISIT OFTEN AND LEAVE A COMMENT OF NICENESS...
Easy Peasy. Hoping we spread a little bit of niceness all the way around the blogging world and hoping that eventually we all get a comment of niceness on our own blogs! All being well this blog will have longevity and people will be able to give spontaneous bursts of niceness everywhere! So don't forget to sign your comment of niceness with DARED TO BE NICE and the link back to this blog http://daretobenice.blogspot.com and then return here to leave a comment with the link to the site you visited.
Come join the fun and have a nice day!!
